McCartney Archive remasters in May and June

The next McCartney re-issues will be out in May (Chaos And Creation In The Backyard, Run Devil Run and Driving Rain) and June (McCartney and McCartney II, as previously reported). This according to a news item on the Dutch Beatles International website. The information comes from the Dutch branch of Universal Music.

Well, I can sleep until June then…this seems like a lost opportunity already…THUD! Obviously RAM will be last…and all of this new exposure with May's titles are going to confuse the hell out of potential discoverers.
Or is the objective to thin the herd? If chronology was considered then context would play a role…but that's not going to be the case with these three 'Grand Openings'. Good Luck Paul…you have received some erroneous financial guidance(strategy)…

Kwai, I don't think you get it.

The three titles in May are standard releases to replace the existing EMI ones on the shelf, just as Capitol's replaced Columbia's back in 1986. They're not major releases at all, and won't get any major push. (At least, certainly not digital, given that Flowers was reissued the day Band On The Run got its archives.)

Archives #2 is McCartney, #3 is McCartney II. Both are listed as double CD with DVD, which makes sense: Band On The Run was same in regular release, and the third disc was for collector's only. (And my suspicion is that The McCartney Interview will be the collector's only offer on that one!)

Archives #4 will most likely BE Ram, given that it's mentioned on Band On The Run's packaging. That, I suspect, will be the Christmas release, if Paul doesn't get a new album of material out instead.

And, according to the add inserted in Band On The Run, the following ones after that will include Venus & Mars, Speed Of Sound and Wings Over America.

    Hi Wogew!
I have read in another site that Chaos,Driving rain and Run devil run will not be remastered, but a same reissue to the previous one will go out on May 23rd, 2011 for these 3 albums.
    What's the true??

Sergio, this is also the view expressed by Brian in the comment above yours, and I expect he's correct. What has leaked is just the Dutch release plan from Universal Music, and the three May releases may indeed just be a matter of transferring the catalogue from EMI pressings over to Concord pressings.
