The Beatles, Get Back and London: on the trail of a timeless story: In a film specially commissioned by Apple Corps and published today by The Guardian, John Harris and John Domokos follow the Beatles’ steps, get immersed in their archive, and do what the Fab Four’s film-makers did – talk to the public.

They are visiting the vast space of the Twickenham Film Studio where filming commenced, and we get to see where the truck with the equipment drove in.

In Savile Row, we are there when Abercrombie & Fitch were still the occupants of the building – they have since moved out. We get to see the rooftop and the storage rooms in the basement where the Apple Studio once was, intercut with clips from the restored “Let It Be” film!

Lastly we visit Abbey Road studios. Along the way, John Harris chats with people about The Beatles.

It looks like a fully remastered original version of the Let It Be theatrical film must be in the works. All the clips appear to be taken from a really superb print. Also, where did they get the string tracks for I Me Mine and Long And Winding Road? I don’t recall those having a release, or even appearing on bootleg.
