Shockingly boring – artistically below par.

  2. Shad Radna says:

    I rather liked it.

What strange guys. Looks like they’re from another planet. Upper body too big with inflated jackets. Looks like they’ve been on bodybuilding. Furthermore, too thin and short legs that do not fit the upper body. Proportions are just irritating to see and bored. Look once and never again. Ehhh the mix of Paul’s singing voice is just hollow and thin / scrawny.

They were from another planet; PepperLand

  5. Mr Marks says:

    More uninspired rubbish.

Yeah, I’m giving up on the Beatles after forty years because of this. How dare they make something that some people like and some people dislike. Everything music be perfect, completely faultless. They should be ashamed of themselves. You might pick up that I’m not being serious. If you don’t like something, keep quiet and don’t spoil it for those of us that quite like it.

Why are some Beatles fans so anally retentive and picky about various releases? It’s supposed to be fun…

    • Rob Geurtsen says:

But it is not fun, let alone artistically relevant.

    • Mr Marks says:

The Beatles dared and broke boundaries, these wave of new videos are lame. They have no creative value, they are pure marketing and will be forgotten tomorrow. It’s just more mediocrity added to the insufferable cacophony of the social media that surrounds us.

      • Blakey says:

I think Mr Marks has a point. The films for Strawberry Fields Forever and Paperback Writer and Rain were daring and groundbreaking in their day. But I can never really get into videos that are made for songs that were never meant to have videos. Here There and Everywhere is an album track. Also, doing videos for a band (as great as they were) that has been defunct for 50 years and with two members long dead, it is a bit strange. It isn’t a proper Beatles production, with input from all four. In fact, there is probably very little Beatle input at all into these new videos.

        • Rob Geurtsen says:

I agree the current videos are lame. The creative freedom The Beatles had during the heydays was based on monetary/corporate power, not creativity.
None of the songs the Beatles recorded were made for videos, except All You Need Is Love, was to be recorded live on tv, which meant fitting massage and sound.
From a marketing point of view it makes sense to create videos, and in the past The Beatles did not have all that creative input in their visual output – except for a few record covers.
          .
I think explaining today or criticising today from a fan’s perspective which is firmly rooted in the past, is not helpful at all. To me it sounds like the two old guys from the Muppet Show.
