McCartney resurrects I’m Down for Citi Field

Paul McCartney elected to resurrect the famous closing number from The Beatles’ Shea Stadium concert last night when he performed at New York’s new stadium, Citi Field. Performed by The Beatles on their 1965 and 1966 tours, “I’m Down” has been performed in public by Mccartney only once before, and that was also in New York at the Concert For New York City in 2001. The song originally appeared as the B-side of the 45 r.p.m. single “Help!”.
Day Tripper, another “new” Beatles song which Paul resurrected at the Halifax concert last week also made it to the Citi Field concert.
Billy Joel made a guest appearance at the concert joining Paul for “I Saw Her Standing There”. Paul will also be performing at Citi Field tonight and on the 21st of July.
