I can just picture John’s song “Give Peace A Chance” and/or “Imagine” being played or sung by the people protesting around the world

Would this be after, or before, John beat his wife? Even Julian Lennon called John a hypocrite when it came to peace and violence. John wasn’t peaceful at home, according to Julian, who witnessed it first hand.

According to Cynthia’s books, John attacked her once (once too many, admittedly) long before Julian was born. The only difference between JL and 95% of men from that time is that he admitted it and apologised for it.

As for Julian, he loves to criticise his father these days, makes a big thing of it. If he wants to be a spokesperson for the bad fathers’ club, he can join the queue. My dad beat the crap out of me on a regular basis (and I’m 6 months older than Julian, so same time period). The difference is that I never received a penny from my dad; perhaps Julian ought to do the same..?

Says the man who never did anything wrong in his entire life

I don’t think John denied that, and spoke of his regrets for that behavior later in his life. Doesn’t make it right, but at least he evolved. He was a product of his environment and his own failings as much as the rest of us.

I can hear & see John doing Bring On The Lucie, People To The People & Gimme Some Truth for this
    tragical time

  5. Blakey says:

Cynthia said that John hit her once and once only, and that he never ‘beat her up’. She also said that John was desperately apologetic afterwards. Yoko also said that John never beat her up either. As Steve Coogan once said, Everybody is a bit of a c**t sometimes, and every one on this earth has been out of order at some point. Doesn’t mean people can’t try to be better as human beings and want peace. As for Julian, he needs to change the record and stop milking that particular cow.

I wonder how many who berate John and tut tut at his violent outbursts are lily white themselves?
How many have bullied a little girl in the school playground? Or caused their parents grief? Or told a racist or sexist sick joke? Bloody loads of them, I’ll bet. No, John wasn’t perfect. But neither is anybody else.
