Yellow Submarine portable record player
Under our radar: For Record Store Day 2021, gramophone manufacturer Crosley Radio has teamed up with Apple Corps Ltd to create a record player with “Yellow Submarine” colours and graphics.
To commemorate #RSDDrops, Crosley Radio has teamed up with Apple Corps Ltd to release The Beatles Yellow Submarine Portfolio Turntable. The deal was brokered by Thread Shop, Sony Music’s licensing and merchandising division.
The limited edition (1,500 manufactured) record player was available from indie record stores in USA from June 12, while quantities last. The custom Portfolio Turntable is decked out in the unmistakable Yellow Submarine style with an MSRP of $159.95.
“Record Store Day has worked with Crosley on some really fun turntables in the past, Disney, The Ramones, Star Wars and Peanuts, but their Yellow Submarine turntable is my absolute favorite. It’s beautiful, bright, fun and it’s The Beatles. We’re hoping it brings a smile to everyone’s face the same way the song and movie did when they were first released,” shares Michael Kurtz, Co-founder, Record Store Day.
Details on the table: Each Crosley limited edition Yellow Sub Portfolio turntable offers the following features:
• Audio-Technica cartridge and stylus mounted on tonearm with adjustable counterweight
• Belt-driven three-speed turntable with pitch control
• Built in dynamic stereo speakers for music anywhere
• Headphone jack
• RCA output, AUX input and built-in Bluetooth receiver
The $160 record player is currently changing hands for between $270 – $425 on ebay.
