“Follow The Beatles”

“Follow the Beatles” – an original 1964 documentary filmed during the making of “A Hard Day’s Night.” Much of the footage has also been used in modern day documentaries and in better quality than this, but here is the footage in its original context.

On August 3, 1964, a month after “A Hard Day’s Night” premiered, the BBC offered their fans a behind-the-scenes look at this time in Beatles history with “Follow the Beatles”.

Robert Robinson presented and narrated the documentary, consisting mainly of silent footage supplied by United Artists which was then overdubbed with interviews with various people involved with the film.

Fascinating! But why didn’t the producers realise that Robert Robinson had announced that they would show “I’m Happy Just To Dance With You” but the clip was actually a repeat of “Tell Me Why”?
