Lennon’s 50th Rock’n’Roll anniversary celebrated in Russia

The fiftieth anniversary of John Lennon’s “Rock’n’Roll” album came and went in February, and sparked nothing special from the Lennon camp. Here in Norway, we did celebrate it on the cover of our “Norwegian Wood” magazine, but they did one up on us in Moscow, Russia.
Moscow’s acclaimed band Dans Ramblers have created a live tribute to this often-overlooked masterpiece. Their performance captures the raw energy and spirit of Lennon’s original recordings while bringing fresh vitality to timeless classics like “Stand by Me” and “Be-Bop-A-Lula.”
What makes this tribute particularly noteworthy is how faithfully Dans Ramblers have preserved the album’s authentic atmosphere while delivering a powerful contemporary live experience. Their interpretation offers both longtime Lennon fans and new listeners a chance to rediscover this unique chapter in rock history.
The concert celebration took place on March 29, 2025, at BASE Club in Moscow, Russia. The concert was part of #1975fest—a festival dedicated to the 50th anniversary of legendary rock milestones from 1975.
#1975fest continues a series of unique tribute festivals in Russia, where all performances are tied to a specific historic year in global music, culture, and society.

A video of John Lennon performing “Stand By Me” was discovered last year. We hope the Lennon family can get it published for the anniversary.
I don’t think that was a good idea wrote about that concert, it would be better when they play that stuff for Ukraine at the Ukraine where civils stills killed by russians…………
I was contemplating whether to publish or not, and decided that I shouldn’t let music lovers and artists suffer for the actions of their politicians. I have also addressed the war in Ukraine in this blog, specifically the bombings which destroyed a John Lennon mural. 🇺🇦
