Waiting ’round in Walthamstow
A few tracks from the new HMC release, which we covered in our last posting, have been liberated and uploaded to YouTube by Adam Bound. These are Beatles tracks from the recording of the May 24th 1963 Walthamstow gig on the Roy Orbison tour. Orbison’s tracks are not included.
We reported on the existence of this recording back in 2011.
Here’s what Adam says:
Hi everyone,
At long last the audience recordings taken of the Beatles live in Walthamstow (on the famous Roy Orbison tour), and in Bournemouth, have been released to the public. This particular tape is very good for an audience Beatles recording, and captures some rare live tracks like “Some Other Guy” and “Thank You Girl”. This recording is not the complete show and has numerous cuts, but what we have is very nice. This tape also includes two songs from Roy Orbison’s set which I have omitted here, but are available in the download link provided. As a whole, a very nice listen. There are no photographs of this show, so I used photos from around the period on this upload. I hope you all enjoy!

Oter bootleg labels are also spreading the word, here is the front cover of a release on the Valkyrie label:
Can you believe that in 2025 we are still getting “new” Beatles material? These two 1963 shows are particularly exciting since we have numerous live shows from 1964 onwards, but until now only radio or TV shows from 63. This is our first chance to hear The Beatles in front of a real audience in that very exciting year
Well, there’s also Stowe School. In fact, the HMC / TMOQ release adds Stowe on the second disc. https://webgrafikk.com/blog/news/bournemouth-concert-bootlegged/
