I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978) and The Beatles First U.S. Visit (1991)

The First US Visit *was* available in the US on VHS – I bought it in New York during Summer '97 (along with the Concert for Bangladesh). It had the same packaging as the LD and first DVD you show. I was most upset when that DVD re-release came out with that comparatively terrible cover…

Luckily *my* UK VCR was NTSC/PAL compatible 😉

Does anyone know what those missing scenes from "What's Happening!" entail? Can't even find a download of the film anywhere to compare, and Epstein stuff always interests me…

I'd like to know what those missing scenes are as well. Sadly, though, we may never know as Apple insists on homogenizing the Beatles' story to one set narrative.

Beatles Story, "What's Happening!", the US mixes… they seem to be pushed out for something that's defined by Apple of today.

(Which may be the problem with Let It Be, as the desire to show it as something other than a band collapsing may be difficult.)

Even The Bootleg Series works this way. Looking at the track listing for the 1963 volume carefully, I could swear it's made up mostly of songs rejected from Anthology and Live At The BBC more than the selection of songs best released.

I wanna hold your hand was finally released in Region 2 DVD this spring (2016). Now after couple of months it has been released for the first time on BluRay as well. Haven't heard yet of the quality… amazon.co.uk/Wanna-Hold-Your-Hand-Blu-ray/dp/B01FXMVOOA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467884044&sr=8-1&keywords=i+wanna+hold+your+hand
