Get Back in Japan

The Beatles Get Back DVD

The DVD edition as depicted on Amazon in Japan

Amazon Japan has now announced the “Get Back” documentary series available for pre-ordering, with a release date of April 20, 2022. The sets depicted are still shown as containing the four collector’s cards – like in the limited edition in USA, but the boxes in Japan are not hyping the pictures as being anything extraordinary.

We don’t know if the date is an indication of when the sets will be available in USA or elsewhere, but we thought you’d might like to know this development. The U.K. Amazon listing has not been updated and still shows the blu-ray as “Temporarily out of stock” and still with a 28 February release date, like it always was listed there. That’s also the date on the official Beatles Store’s Europe site, but where Amazon lists the blu-ray as region free, the Beatles Store has it as PAL Region 2 – Europe.

The Beatles’ official U.S.A. Store is not listing a date yet, but has the message (under “Additional Details”): PLEASE NOTE: The release date for the Get Back DVD and Blu-ray has been postponed. This item will ship on or around the new release date once announced. Shipping only to the US and CA.

Meanwhile, Joe, Marjorie, Barbara and Ringo are happy for the LA Rams victory at the Superbowl.

How come the DVD set doesn’t get the same treatment [containing the collector cards]?

Writing from Canada, just received my DVD copy today. Whether it’s a corrected copy or not, I’m unable to tell.

THIS SITUATION IS SO TIRESOME , WHERE EVER YOU LOOK FOR A RELEASE DATE, DIFFERENT DATES POP UP, IF AT ALL, WHEN WILL THIS BE SORTED OUT, AS ITS NOT PUTTING THE VARIOUS COMPANIES IN QUESTION , IN THE BEST LIGHT, AS SOMEONE MENTIONED ON ANOTHER SITE WHO TALKED ABOUT THIS MATTER.
