Paul’s new record

Records are set all the time in the recording industry. Some of the records from the early days have been broken by new artists and groups – and this is also the case with records set by The Beatles. We have seen them fall, one after another. In 2018, Drake broke the record The Beatles set in 1964 when they had the five top songs on the Billboard Top 100 list.

The Beatles held the five top spots, but they also had other hits further down the Hot 100 list.

Recently a new and curious record was set. We are still talking about the U.S. recording industry magazine Billboard and their lists, this time the album list. Paul McCartney is the first artist to have a new album reach at least the top 2 on the Billboard Album Chart in each of the last 6 decades. Some of the albums involved also held the top spot.

We have been looking at the placings and figured that these are the albums involved in the record:

2020s: McCartney III (No. 2 in 2021)
2010s: Egypt Station (No. 1 in 2018)
2000s: Wingspan: Hits And History (No. 2 in 2001)
1990s: Flaming Pie (No. 2 in 1997)
1980s: Tug Of War (No. 1 in 1982
1970s: McCartney (No 1 in 1970)

In the seventies, there were albums by Paul and Linda (“Ram”) and Wings which reached no. 2 as well as no. 1 , but this is a Paul solo record. “Wingspan: Hits and History” collect songs by both Wings and Paul solo.

It’s the same old story. The journalist of Billboard wasn’t born when The Beatles did 5 singles on top 5 Billboard in 1964. Blake had 7 singles each being streaming 1 song. The Beatles had 5 singles each havning 2 songs, so Blade get 7 x royalties and The Beatles got 10x the roylaties. Which is the best? Well of course you have to fine your cellphone to help comparing the numbers, which is the best. By the way The Beatles also had number 31,41,46,58,65,68 and 79 each having 2 tracks! I’m sure all 4 Beatle families don’t care about the headlines in Billboard, they prefer more money in their pockets by havning 2 tracks pr. single.

In the article it mentioned Drake breaking The Beatles Billboard record. Oh please no way is he better then The Beatles, hell he’s not even better then The Archies.

There’s a reason why they’re still remembered and admired 60 years later

The only other artist(s) who could come close would be Elton John, for originally and hits. But, there is only one Elton John and four Beatles; if you can see where I’m going with that. Barry

The numbers it takes to get a number one song these days is dramatically less then what it used to be – we’re literally talking tens of thousands. Heck, if I recall correctly, advance orders for “Can’t Buy Me Love” was 1.5 million in the UK alone. Now acts get a #1 if they hit 10,000 downloads.

The important record and the one which is always mentioned is that the Beatles held all the top five at once. I’ve never noticed anyone count up the number of hits they had in the top 10 – it’s the top five monopoly which was so historic. That record hasn’t been broken. He doesen’t have the top six places, or even the top five – so nothing further to report.

This is why the Beatles are better than the stones let’s see how many records and hit singles that all the stones members have a solo artist thank you Beatles rule it’s a Beatles Universe folks always will be

Why is no one mentioning Paul’s accomplishment here? That was the purpose of this article. It shows the sustaining power of one of the Beatles as a solo artist!
