John Lennon Coin

The former member of the Beatles, singer songwriter Lennon was chosen by a public vote to be honoured with the coin with a face value of 5 pounds (US $ 8) but will be sold at 45 pounds (US $ 71.68) in a limited edition that went on sale Friday. The former Beatle will join William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin and Florence Nightingale among British luminaries whose images have graced special coins.
